The Christmas Season In Norfolk Be Like...

While we may not live in the city anymore I am always happy to return & see the efforts that Visit Norfolkva puts in around the holidays ☃️

Like for example, “WinterFest” at the Nauticus Norfolk [On display until 1/1/23] with over a million lights on the Battleship Wisconsin which is worth a trip on its own. It doesn’t end there as Geoffrey, The Talking Christmas tree is back AND he not alone. This year is joined by his friend, Jingles the Gingerbread Man. The boys absolutely loved getting to chat with them even though Leo found them, “A little scary”. Another new addition this year is Mistletoe Marina! This immersive waterfront journey features thousands of lights, decorated boats, scheduled live entertainment, and tons of other interactive fun like the new “Elf Door Discovery” between the Nauticus and the Half Moone Cruise Center. One of my favorite things added this year was the new the “Elf Door Discovery” 🙌🏾 as part of the full Elf Door Discovery in Downtown!

The Christmas season is in full effect as elves have installed one hundred tiny colorful elf doors all around Downtown as part of a fun scavenger hunt to encourage downtown discovery. Look everywhere, you will find these magical doors near theaters, restaurants, parks, and any other places little elves may gather.

But wait, there’s more! How about the Norfolk Botanical Garden's “Garden of Lights” [ Also on Display until 1/1/23] show🎄presented by Dominion Energy ⚡️ Approximately a mile stretch of lights from elves to sea creatures twinkling, shimmering, and on display to carry through that holiday vibes.

Need something sweet? Pull up to the participating vendors for Norfolk’s 8th Annual Great Hot Cocoa Wars 🍫☕️! This fun competition is unfortunately over with but, participating Norfolk Restaurants sold $2 4oz cups of liquid chocolate gold with flavors that ranged from White Chocolate to Coconut!

Whether you are from the area or visiting, each event, every year is always a hit and highly recommend for anyone looking for some holiday family fun or great date night ideas!!
